There may be cases you would want to update the connection to your database. You can always disconnect and reconnect your database. But updating the connection will ensure that your saved queries, dashboards, and alerts are still there after you update the connection.

To update an existing connection, click on the Settings on the top right. It’ll open a Dropdown menu, and from there select the Database Settings option.

If you have permission to update the database connection you will see the Edit Database connection option. From there hit the Edit button. It’ll redirect you to the Update Connection Page. On that update just add the updated credentials for your database and hit Next.

If your database just has one Schema, that schema will be automatically selected and you’ll be taken to the tables page. If your database has multiple schemas you will have to select the schema. To keep your existing tables, queries, dashboards, and alerts select the same schema. If you select a different schema. Your existing queries, dashboard, and alerts will be deleted.
